Medlog, a subsidiary of MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, has acquired U.K.-based logistics operator Maritime Group, marking a significant milestone for both companies. The sale was completed on September 2, 2024, and aligns with Maritime’s ambitious growth plans, as highlighted in a company statement.
Maritime Group, a leading logistics provider in the U.K., has grown over the past 23 years to employ 3,000 people across 41 state-of-the-art sites. The company offers comprehensive supply chain solutions, including container transport, domestic distribution, freight management, and truck sales.
John Williams, Executive Chairman of Maritime Group, expressed his excitement about the acquisition: “In Medlog, we share a common heritage, culture, and values. This partnership will enable us to continue investing in innovative, technology-driven, infrastructure-led supply chain solutions, such as our new battery electric trucks and open access rail terminals.”

The Maritime management team, led by Williams, will continue to oversee operations under the Maritime brand with new support and investment from Medlog, ensuring a seamless transition and continued service excellence.
