Continental Carriers recently announced the launch of its first RA-3 accredited Greenfield Air Freight Station (AFS) in New Delhi. With this, the AFS also becomes the country’s first to be set up on an off-airport location to receive the RA-3 status from the European Union (EU) and the UK and duly qualified for transportation of air cargo into these regions directly from a third-country (non-EU) airport in India.
The certification was bestowed on the basis of the Danish National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NASP) and the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1998 of November 5, 2015, which laid down a detailed framework for implementing the basic standards of aviation security by the Department of Transport, Great Minster House, London for the UK.
In accordance with the conditions laid down in ‘Handling of Cargo in Customs Area’ Regulations 2009, Continental Carriers will soon commence cargo operations shortly from the designated AFS facility located in 76-77, Kapashera Bijwasan Road, New Delhi.
