American Airlines Cargo has unveiled its ambitious summer widebody schedule, introducing new routes and frequency increases for the 2024 season. The airline’s European expansion includes fresh flights from Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), Copenhagen Airport (CPH), and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), and Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). Commencing as early as April and extending through October, these routes promise enhanced connectivity across the Atlantic.
While some trans-Atlantic routes are novel, American Airlines already enjoys a solid reputation in European markets, bolstered by its extensive trucking network. Key origins like CPH, renowned for pharmaceuticals and fish, and NCE’s fragrance products from the Grasse region, underpin the airline’s market penetration strategy. Furthermore, select summer routes, including BCN to PHL, Lisbon Airport (LIS) to PHL, and Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), have transitioned from seasonal to year-round service, responding to heightened demand.
In the trans-Pacific sector, American Airlines introduces new service from Haneda Airport (HND) to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), alongside a frequency increase to daily flights from Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) to DFW. Domestically, the carrier bolsters its widebody network, facilitating seamless connections between its primary hub at DFW and key U.S. hubs such as Miami International Airport (MIA), ORD, and PHL.
Roger Samways, Vice President of Commercial for American Airlines Cargo, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded offerings, stating, “We are excited to offer our customers more opportunities to move their goods across our global network this summer season. Offering new and increased service out of multiple regions helps us to meet the growing needs of our customers in important markets, and we welcome this opportunity to further expand our network.” With a focus on meeting evolving customer demands and expanding its global reach, American Airlines Cargo reaffirms its commitment to providing efficient and reliable freight services.
