SIA and IBS Software achieve milestone with ONE Record standards

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and India-based IBS Software have reached a significant milestone in their collaboration to develop a shipment record solution aligned with IATA’s ONE Record standards. The initiative aims to digitise shipment records and leverage technology to enhance data transparency and efficiency.

The companies, working alongside Cargo Community Network (CCN), have completed the first phase of their development plan. This phase involves the creation and sharing of shipment records across airlines, cargo community system providers, and ground handling agents on the ONE Record platform. CCN’s open data collaboration platform, CUBEforall, is facilitating data exchange and integrating legacy systems with ONE Record standards.

The milestone was highlighted at the IATA ONE Record roadshow in Singapore on July 23. Traditionally, a single airfreight shipment requires multiple records to be created and shared among stakeholders. By digitising these records, the ONE Record standard will enable Singapore Airlines to maintain a “single source of truth,” enhancing data utilisation beyond the physical shipment lifecycle.

This advancement aims to improve transparency and visibility across reporting, revenue accounting, and future planning for all involved parties. Ashok Rajan, Head of Cargo and Logistics Solutions at IBS Software, emphasised the importance of data accessibility and transparency in driving cargo industry innovation. Marvin Tan, Senior Vice President Cargo at Singapore Airlines, highlighted the airline’s commitment to enhancing data visibility and unlocking new efficiencies through this collaboration.
