Supply chain Software as a Service (SaaS) provider Topo has teamed up with global trade association amfori to provide users with social-related supply chain information from amfori’s Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) Platform.
As part of its BSCI, amfori gathers data from over 2400 retail and manufacturing members about their supply chain performance against 11 principles, which range from fair renumeration to no child labor, with the aim of improving social and ethical performances.
The data will be included on Topo’s supply chain platform, giving users end-to-end visibility and control for their supplier compliance and supply chain due diligence.
“Ethical supply chain management is, quite rightly, gaining importance,” said Tobias Grabler, Chief Operations Officer, Topo.
“Increased public awareness on issues such as bonded and child labor, worker safety hazards, and the struggle for fair remuneration is increasing pressure on companies to take care of worker welfare across entire supply chains.”
“Companies can be significantly affected by unethical practices or misconduct in their supply networks, especially with a large proportion of operations being outsourced to other countries.”
“By matching the data displayed on the amfori BSCI on Topo’s platform, customers will get the same sustainability insights with the addition of the other solutions from Topo on a single dashboard revolutionising compliance management.”
The amfori information ranges from basic supplier data to detailed information on a suppliers’ overseas factories, allowing users to undertake cross checks and update insights about suppliers.
It also gives access to compliance information such as certificate numbers, expiration dates, and live data about the outcomes of different audit types.
Topo’s integration with amfori supports compliance management with customised and automated workflows such as sending in-app notifications alerting the user to changes to a suppliers’ status.
Topo offers brands, retailers, and suppliers corrective and preventive action management, self-assessments, instant communication tools for collaboration across all supply chain partners, automated workflows and follow-ups on tasks, and advanced analytics in one location.
Users can prioritise suppliers by ranking them against sustainability targets and set automated calls to alert them when corrective action is needed, in the case of a supplier rating falling under a predefined threshold.
“amfori BSCI provides our amfori members with world-class tools which enable companies to trade with purpose by exercising human rights due diligence in their supply chain,” said Elif Kalan, Social Programmes Expert, amfori.
“The integration with Topo means that businesses across the globe can accurately and easily monitor their supply chain to ensure improvements are made that will benefit thousands of workers and heighten ethics across the supply chain.”
The amfori BSCI is an industry-driven movement aiming to monitor and assess workplace standards across the global supply chain and it helps businesses to achieve SA8000 social accountability certification.
Topo celebrates its tenth year in 2022 and is rapidly expanding its team to meet growing demand for its low code solutions for the supply chain, as well as moving to new offices in Hong Kong.
