MSC has announced the launch of its new weekly service, Osprey, aimed at enhancing connectivity between Asia and South East India. The Osprey service will provide a direct route, significantly improving transit times between these crucial markets. This initiative opens new opportunities for importers and exporters, fostering increased trade between these important hubs.
The Osprey service is set to complement MSC’s existing Shikra service, further bolstering the Asia-India service network. The inaugural voyage of the Osprey service is scheduled to depart from Ningbo on 23 July, with the vessel MSC Somya leading the first sailing.
The service rotation will cover key ports: Shanghai (China) – Ningbo (China) – Singapore – Colombo (Sri Lanka) – Ennore (India) – Visakhapatnam (India) – Ningbo. MSC’s new service promises end-to-end connectivity, with transit times of 15 days from Ningbo to Ennore, 17 days from Ningbo to Visakhapatnam, and 19 days from Ningbo to Kolkata (via Visakhapatnam).
The launch of the Osprey service underscores MSC’s commitment to enhancing trade routes and providing efficient logistics solutions in the Asia-South East India corridor. By offering faster transit times and direct connections, MSC aims to support the growing demand for reliable and timely shipping services in the region.
