India’s logistics industry sees formation of first-ever dedicated Warehouse Association

In a historic move, India’s logistics industry witnessed the formation of a dedicated warehousing association for the first time.

“The Association’s charter was signed on Saturday at New Delhi. The Chief Guest at the occasion was Pawan Agarwal, IAS, Special Secretary Logistics, Department of Logistics, Ministry of Commerce,” stated an official release sent to us.

“The Warehouse Association of India will be the ecosystem of and for all stakeholders of the Warehousing Industry in India. Along with charter and managing committee members, Warehouse Association of India pledge to further the interest of the warehousing sector in India,” the statement read.

Reportedly, Manu Raj Bhalla, Director & Global Head- Contract Logistics & Supply Chain, Freight Systems (India) has been appointed as the President of the Association and will be at the helm of affairs.

The forum specially acknowledged Smriti Sharma, Sunil Tyagi, Rajesh Lal, Mohan S A, Arif Siddiqui, Parag Warerkar, Sunil Nair, Parmeet Bhalla, Anish Kumar, Venkat Nott for their contributions and for being part of the noble initiative.

The Warehouse Association of India is now inviting industry leaders and stakeholders to join the forum and be part of the exciting journey.
