ECS Group’s subsidiary, Globe Air Cargo, has officially taken on the role of General Sales Agent (GSA) for Air Serbia’s cargo operations throughout the United States. This newly signed agreement marks a significant expansion in Air Serbia’s capacity, enabling the airline to offer 60 tons of weekly air cargo through five Airbus A330 flights connecting New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD), and Belgrade (BEG).
This partnership not only enhances Air Serbia’s operational capabilities but also provides vital connections to numerous European destinations, including Sarajevo (SJJ), Montenegro (TGD), Tirana (TIA), Skopje (SKP), Zurich (ZRH), and Istanbul (IST). Furthermore, the collaboration will extend Air Serbia’s reach into the Asian market with service to Guangzhou (CAN) and Tianjin (TSN), alongside the introduction of a new route to Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), set to launch on January 11, 2025.
To streamline operations, the partnership will utilise a comprehensive Road Feeder Service (RFS) network across the U.S., effectively linking Air Serbia’s stations at JFK and ORD. This initiative is designed to facilitate efficient transfers to Eastern Europe and beyond, enhancing the overall logistics experience for customers.
Francisco Hernandez, Managing Director of Globe Air Cargo USA, emphasised the significance of this collaboration, stating, “This partnership is a pivotal step in strengthening our presence in the U.S. market. By combining Globe Air Cargo’s expertise with Air Serbia’s growing network, we aim to deliver seamless global logistics solutions.”
Veselin Djordjevic, Head of Air Serbia Cargo, expressed enthusiasm for the new relationship, highlighting ECS Group’s renowned reputation in the industry. He noted, “Our network offers access to hard-to-reach destinations including Podgorica, Tirana, Skopje, Sarajevo, Sofia, and Zagreb, alongside Belgrade. With over 50 drop-off points covered by extensive RFS connections via ORD and JFK, our product is well-regarded in the USA, providing high-quality, reliable service to support the U.S. export community.”
