JM Baxi Ports and Logistics has appointed Capt. Alpesh Abhay Sharma as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its Container Business. Capt. Sharma joins the company with nearly 13 years of experience from DP World, where he held several significant roles across India and Southeast Asia. His impressive career includes positions such as CEO for NSICT, CEO for LCIT Terminals in Thailand, CEO for Thailand, and VP Commercial (Ports and Terminals) for South East Asia. He has also served on various boards in DP World Subcon and DP World APAC. His leadership experience extends to Maersk Line (India) and OOCL (India), where he served as Country Head for Operations.
Capt. Sharma’s extensive expertise in container terminal operations and the commercial landscape is expected to drive JM Baxi’s growth and unlock new business opportunities. Reporting directly to Mr. Dhruv Kotak, Group Managing Director, he will work closely with teams to enhance operations and boost revenue growth.
In his new role, Capt. Sharma will oversee the entire container business at JM Baxi Ports and Logistics. This includes managing sales and operations efficiency at container terminals, inland container depots (ICD), container freight stations (CFS), and rail operations. His leadership will be instrumental in steering strategic initiatives and ensuring operational excellence.
