Etihad Cargo expands winter schedule with increased capacity and new destination

Etihad Cargo, the dedicated cargo and logistics division of Etihad Airways, has announced its expanded winter schedule for November 2024, significantly boosting belly hold cargo capacity across major global markets. This new schedule will enhance existing routes and introduce a new passenger destination, Nairobi, starting December 15, 2024.

The expanded service will provide belly capacity on 880 passenger flights weekly in November, increasing to over 900 flights per week by March 2025. In Europe, Etihad Cargo is set to add 36 weekly flights, with key destinations such as Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, and Milan transitioning to double-daily services. Enhanced capacity will also be seen in Zurich, Manchester, and Düsseldorf, bolstering the airline’s presence in these critical markets.

In Southeast Asia, the airline is increasing its flights to Thailand by nine, achieving triple-daily frequency to Bangkok and raising services to Phuket to 20 flights weekly. In the U.S., Etihad Cargo will enhance its operations by increasing Boston flights from four to daily.

The airline is also upgrading services in South Asia and the Indian Ocean. The Malé route will transition entirely to widebody aircraft from December 15, 2024, while Bengaluru will see an increase from two to three weekly flights, and Hyderabad will rise from nine to 11 flights weekly. Additionally, four weekly flights will be established on the new A320 route to Nairobi.

Stanislas Brun, Vice President of Cargo at Etihad, emphasised that customer needs remain at the forefront of the airline’s operations. The expanded schedule aims to provide enhanced access to Etihad’s global network, offering increased flight frequencies and new destinations to improve capacity and flexibility for cargo transport. Looking ahead, Etihad Cargo plans to add 41 extra flights weekly in summer 2025, including double-daily flights to major European cities and new destinations, Warsaw and Prague, by June 2025.
