Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) recently announced that it has joined The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), a not-for-profit association representing and uniting all parts of the air cargo industry.
PHL is active in many aviation trade groups, but its addition of TIACA will connect the airport with shippers, forwarders, ground handlers, other airports, airlines, manufacturers, service providers, and more.
“We’re excited to welcome PHL to our membership ranks because of the significant opportunity presented in Philadelphia,” stated Glyn Hughes, TIACA Director General.
“While many cargo airports on the East Coast of the United States are facility constrained, PHL is planning expansion in coming years.”
As part of PHL’s membership with TIACA, the airport will receive access to engage with prospective partners, attend and present at industry events, share educational opportunities and view market insights like economics briefings and industry reports.
“TIACA membership is a key piece of Philadelphia’s introduction to the air cargo community,” said PHL Director of Air Service Development and Cargo Services Stephanie Wear. “Combined with our aggressive expansion strategy and new digital initiatives, we are poised to become the premier cargo airport on the East Coast.”
