Cathay Pacific expands North America network with new Hong Kong to Dallas Fort Worth service

Cathay Pacific is expanding its North American network with the introduction of a new non-stop service between Hong Kong and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), set to launch on April 24, 2025. This addition marks Cathay Pacific’s sixth U.S. destination and its eighth in North America, reinforcing the airline’s growing presence on the continent and strengthening Hong Kong’s global connectivity.

Lavinia Lau, Cathay Group’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the new route, emphasising the airline’s deep ties to Hong Kong and its role as a key international aviation hub. Lau highlighted the strategic significance of DFW, one of the world’s busiest airports, noting that through Cathay Pacific’s codeshares and other connections, customers will gain access to over 190 domestic destinations in the U.S. and 11 destinations across Central and South America. This expansion also ties into China’s Belt and Road Initiative, further enhancing Cathay Pacific’s network reach.

Currently, Cathay Pacific operates 88 return passenger flights per week to North American cities such as Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Vancouver. The new DFW route will offer four return flights per week using Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, with services available for booking.

In addition to the DFW service, Cathay Pacific will increase its North American flight frequencies in 2025, with 108 return flights per week planned by May. This includes three daily return flights to New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and daily flights to Boston and Chicago. The airline will also enhance its Canadian services, offering two daily return flights to Vancouver and 13 return flights per week to Toronto.

Cathay Pacific’s new passenger route to DFW will complement its existing cargo services to the city. As demand grows during the peak season, Cathay Cargo has added five additional return freighter flights per week to North America, bringing the total to 37 return freighter flights.

Cathay Pacific has been serving North America since 1983 with its first non-stop flight to Vancouver, a testament to the region’s long-standing importance to its global network.
