Dubai-headquartered Transworld Group today officially announced commencement of operations with DP World and its subsidiary Unifeeder Group as part of their strategic partnership signed in August last year, which aims to strengthen Transworld’s position as a leading shipping and logistics conglomerate.
“In line with our earlier correspondences on our strategic partnership with DP World and its subsidiary Unifeeder Group, we are pleased to inform you that final approvals from the relevant authorities have been obtained, and the transaction has been closed on 01st July 2021,” read a statement issued by the company.
“Unifeeder, through its Unifeeder ISC platform, has acquired three business units of the Transworld Group, i.e. Transworld Feeders FZCO, Avana Logistek (including its subsidiary Avana Global FZCO), and Transworld Feeders (the containerised Indian coastal and EXIM feeder shipping operations of Shreyas Shipping and Logistics, excluding vessels and bulk operations),” it said.
“The combined organisation will deliver more solutions through its comprehensive network, especially in the trades between India, the Arabian Gulf and South-East Asia, as well as within the wider Indian subcontinent region,” the statement added.

Transworld Feeders FZCO and Avana Global FZCO are leading independent feeder and Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers (NVOCC) operators, offering container feedering services and regional trade solutions connecting a wide range of ports in the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Far East through their dense network. The central hub port at Jebel Ali (UAE) plays a pivotal role for a large part of the services. Both the companies have a strong presence within trade routes west of the Indian subcontinent and complement the acquisition of Feedertech and Perma Shipping, which have a strong market position in the trade routes towards the east of the Indian Subcontinent.
Transworld Feeders and Avana Logistek maintain a comprehensive coverage of all main ports, terminals and inland destinations in India. Avana Logistek also provides first- and last-mile delivery solutions within the Indian domestic market. Both are market leaders in providing logistic solutions to cargo owners, traders, forwarders, and shipping lines. Further, they both complement and expand the ability to offer a broader range of India focussed solutions.
These entities will continue to operate an asset-light structure as per the Unifeeder model, which delivers greater flexibility and efficiency for customers.
