Noatum Logistics, a subsidiary of AD Ports Group, has introduced a new rail logistics solution to enhance the Middle East’s regional freight capabilities. This addition complements the company’s existing portfolio of integrated logistics services, including land, sea, and air transport.
The service was inaugurated with the launch of its first rail shuttle between Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals, utilising the UAE’s national railway system developed by Etihad Rail. This new shuttle aims to increase capacity within the regional logistics network, offering a robust option for customers with substantial overland freight volumes.
Operating weekly, the service can transport up to 156 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) or 78 Forty-Foot Equivalent Units (FEUs) in each direction on a single train. Depending on demand, Noatum Logistics can also integrate first- and last-mile trucking services, ensuring seamless end-to-end connectivity for its clients.
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, hailed the launch as a significant milestone: “The inaugural journey of the first commercial train shuttle from Khalifa Port to Fujairah Terminals is a major milestone for our broader AD Ports Group family. It aligns with our leadership’s vision to enhance connectivity across the UAE and the broader Middle East.”
He emphasised that the National Railway Network, a crucial component of AD Ports Group’s multimodal transport network, not only links strategic seaports and inland logistics assets but also serves as a catalyst for future economic growth across the region.
