New AWC service by SeaLead enhances trade link between Asia and California

SeaLead has announced the launch of its new direct liner shipping service, the AWC (Asia West Coast) service, which will connect key Chinese ports to Long Beach, California, providing one of the fastest transit times from China and South Korea to Southern California. This move aligns with the growing trade activities between the US and China. Between January and March 2024, the US exported goods worth $36.86 billion to China and imported goods worth $97.63 billion.

SC Chan, Acting Head of SeaLead, stated, “The introduction of the AWC service is a strategic response to the robust demand we’ve seen in transpacific trade. Our aim is to offer an unrivalled transit solution that not only meets but also exceeds the logistical requirements of our clients.”

The AWC service will follow this port rotation: Nansha, Ningbo, Shanghai, Qingdao, Busan, Long Beach, Nansha, and back to Shanghai. The inaugural voyage is set to commence with the first vessel departing from Nansha on June 16. A second vessel will begin its journey from Nansha on June 26, making a call at Busan, South Korea. The service includes two stops at Busan, starting with the westbound leg and followed by a voyage to Nansha. Initially, the service will operate with five vessels and will follow a weekly schedule. South Korea plays a crucial role in the AWC service, providing excellent transit times between Busan and Long Beach in both directions.

Cas Pouderoyen, Managing Director of the Americas, added, “SeaLead’s expansion with the AWC service underscores our dedication to enhancing operational efficiencies and cost-effectiveness for our customers, ensuring they receive the best possible service in the industry.” The AWC service guarantees both speed and reliability and is supported by a team of seasoned professionals committed to exceptional customer service.

This new service by SeaLead promises to bolster the already significant trade relations between the US and China, providing a reliable and efficient shipping option for businesses on both sides of the Pacific.
