Michele Grubbs, vice president at the Pacific Merchant Shipping Association (PMSA), has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII). The CII, a not-for-profit organisation, is dedicated to promoting and supporting the business of international trade and the intermodal transportation community.
Grubbs has been an integral part of PMSA since 2004, where she oversees the association’s Long Beach office. PMSA, an independent nonprofit association, represents ocean carriers, marine terminal operators, and the maritime industry along the U.S. West Coast. Before her tenure at PMSA, Grubbs held various positions within the aerospace industry, where she specialised in international trade policy and marketing across Washington D.C., California, and Western Europe.
Chris Brooks, president of CII, expressed enthusiasm about Grubbs’ appointment, stating, “Michele brings a wealth of expertise in international trade policy, legislation, and community affairs to our board. Her contributions have significantly enhanced PMSA’s reputation as a leading advocacy association. As our latest board member, she offers a fresh perspective and invaluable insights that will bolster CII in advancing its mission to support international trade.”
In addition to her role at PMSA, Grubbs actively participates in several industry-related boards. She serves on the Advisory Board for the Center of International Trade and Transportation (CITT) at California State University, Long Beach, and is a board member of the Southern California Marine Exchange. Her extensive experience and commitment to the field of international trade and transportation are expected to bring substantial benefits to CII’s initiatives.
Grubbs’ election to the CII Board of Directors marks a significant step in strengthening the organisation’s efforts to promote intermodal transportation and international trade. Her leadership and vision are anticipated to drive further advancements in the industry.
