DP World has been awarded the Authorised Economic Operator-Logistics Operator (AEO-LO) certification by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). This certification aligns with the World Customs Organisation (WCO) SAFE Framework of Standards, representing one of the highest security benchmarks in the global supply chain.
In today’s unpredictable global trade environment, the AEO-LO certification significantly bolsters DP World’s reputation as a secure and reliable logistics provider. This recognition highlights DP World’s expertise in facilitating efficient cross-border trade, ensuring streamlined clearance procedures at all customs stations across India for the next five years. Such efficiency underscores DP World’s dedication to enhancing global supply chain security.
The certification was officially presented by Rajesh Pandey, Chief Commissioner of Customs, Mumbai Zone-II, Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House (JNCH), to Akash Agrawal, Vice-President of Freight Forwarding for the India subcontinent at DP World. By adhering to the stringent standards set by the AEO-LO, DP World guarantees secure multi-channel and multi-region cargo movement for its customers.
Moreover, the AEO-LO certification brings significant operational advantages. It provides DP World with access to Direct Port Delivery (DPD) for import containers and Direct Port Entry (DPE) for export containers, thereby reducing turnaround times and enabling faster customs clearances. This efficiency is particularly beneficial for export-import business activities, including freight forwarding and operations within Free Trade Warehousing Zones (FTWZs), which benefit from faster cargo processing, deferred duty payments, and the advantages of Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) with countries such as South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
The AEO-LO certification reaffirms DP World’s commitment to securing and optimising the global supply chain, solidifying its role as a leader in the logistics industry.
