Lufthansa Cargo unveils winter schedule 2024/2025

Lufthansa Cargo has published its winter flight schedule for 2024/2025, enhancing its global network with 89 weekly B777F freighter connections—seven more than the previous summer schedule. Key highlights include a new transpacific route, increased capacity to India and Taipei, and an optimised network for faster connections, reinforcing Lufthansa Cargo’s commitment to enabling global business.

One of the most notable additions is a new weekly transpacific flight connecting Frankfurt with Los Angeles (LAX) via Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), marking Lufthansa Cargo’s first direct connection between Asia and the U.S. The new route provides a quicker, high-quality service between these major markets, emphasising the airline’s strategic focus on expanding its presence in the rapidly growing transpacific corridor.

“Lufthansa Cargo is constantly reviewing all possibilities to offer its customers seamless, high-quality connections and to enable global business even more efficiently and sustainably,” said Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo. The optimised schedule includes fewer stopovers for some freighters, ensuring faster and more direct transportation within the global network.

In response to the increasing demand for e-commerce and other goods, the airline is expanding its freighter services to India and China, leveraging the entry of its 18th B777F freighter into service. The new aircraft, delivered from Boeing’s Seattle plant in mid-August, enables additional flights to key destinations. In Asia, Lufthansa Cargo will add one more weekly flight to both Mumbai (BOM) and Taipei (TPE). Chennai (MAA) will be served twice a week, alternating with Hyderabad (HYD) and Mumbai (BOM), providing critical connectivity for high-demand markets.

Moreover, the company has recently added Shenzhen (SZX) and Zhengzhou (CGO) to its network, increasing its total weekly frequencies to Asia to 50. These enhancements reflect the cargo carrier’s strategic investments in the Asia-Pacific region, underscoring its long-term growth ambitions in a dynamic market environment.

The winter schedule also sees an increased freighter rotation from Frankfurt via Tel Aviv (TLV) to Cairo (CAI), adding one more weekly flight with a B777F. Within Europe, the A321F fleet continues to provide extensive coverage, including a direct link from Munich to Istanbul (IST), catering to cargo customers in southern Germany.

The Winter 2024/2025 schedule will be available for booking from October 6 and will take effect on October 27. In addition to freighter services, Lufthansa Cargo will market cargo capacity on up to 7,500 flights weekly to over 350 destinations through Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, and SunExpress. This includes new connections to North America, such as flights from Frankfurt to Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and Minneapolis (MSP).

With these strategic enhancements, Lufthansa Cargo aims to provide a robust, high-performance logistics network, supporting global trade and meeting the evolving demands of its customers across key international markets.
