EXG completes complex power plant equipment transport from China to India

Express Global Logistics (EXG), a key member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India, has successfully executed a complex transportation project for the expansion of a nuclear power plant in southern India. The project involved the movement of power plant equipment from Lushun Port, China, to Tuticorin Port, India, followed by comprehensive port and road handling.

The operation encompassed break bulk ocean transport, customs clearance, and extensive logistical coordination, culminating in the delivery of 36 pieces of equipment, totaling 3,708 freight tonnes. The equipment, with maximum dimensions of 9×5.6×5.7 meters and individual weights of up to 59 tons, was transported using heavy-duty multi-axle trailers.

Notably, the ocean transit from China to India, featuring priority berthing and direct sailing, was completed in just 21 days. The subsequent road transport from Tuticorin Port to the designated site covered a distance of 250 kilometers, utilising a mix of heavy-duty and low-bed multi-axle trailers.

A spokesperson for EXG commented, “The meticulous planning and execution of this project, despite geopolitical challenges and vessel space shortages in China, showcase our ability to adapt and fulfill specific client needs under challenging conditions. Our dedicated team and partners played a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of this project.”
