Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, inaugurated Invest India’s first overseas office in Singapore today, marking a key milestone in strengthening India’s global investment outreach. This comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement during his visit to Singapore on September 4-5, 2024. The newly established office aims to facilitate deeper investment partnerships and offer streamlined support for companies in the region looking to invest in India.
The Singapore office will act as a dedicated point of contact for businesses across sectors, fostering collaboration and helping global investors navigate India’s growing and dynamic economy. This strategic move aligns with India’s broader vision of enhancing international economic ties, particularly with ASEAN countries.
At the event, Minister Goyal highlighted the significance of Singapore as a strategic partner for India. He noted that this office opening represents a new chapter in India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen economic cooperation with the region. “Singapore is a key strategic partner for India, and this office marks a new chapter in our efforts to strengthen economic cooperation with Singapore and the broader ASEAN region,” he said.
Minister Goyal also revealed plans to open more Invest India offices overseas in the coming months to ensure seamless access for global investors. This initiative is expected to further boost India’s economic engagement and make it easier for foreign companies to explore investment opportunities across India’s rapidly expanding market, thereby promoting mutual growth.
