Tech-driven, on-demand logistics company Porter has expanded its operations to Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam as part of its national growth strategy. This move aims to enhance intracity transportation, making deliveries more accessible, reliable, and efficient, particularly in tier 2 and tier 3 markets.
Porter’s entry into Thiruvananthapuram is set to support the city’s rapid urbanisation and its burgeoning IT sector by deploying 2-wheelers for seamless goods movement. “This initiative aligns with the city’s growing demand for efficient logistics services, driven by ongoing infrastructure developments,” the company said. Meanwhile, in Visakhapatnam, Porter plans to leverage the city’s role as a crucial trade hub, enhancing local logistics infrastructure.
“This expansion is a significant stride in our journey towards revolutionising logistics across India,” said Ankit Dwivedi, Vice President, Expansion at Porter. “By extending our services to Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam, we aim to strengthen our national network while empowering MSMEs and the delivery partner community, fostering growth and sustainability in the evolving market landscape.”
Dwivedi further noted that Porter plans to reach 35 cities over the next two years, marking a pivotal milestone in the company’s decade-long journey. This strategy includes onboarding a significant number of driver-partners in each new location, contributing to local job creation and economic development. Porter’s expansion underscores its commitment to delivering easy, reliable, and accessible logistics solutions across India.
