DP World, a global leader in smart end-to-end supply chain solutions, celebrated the inaugural voyage of a new weekly mainline service at DP World Mundra. This service, operated by Emirates Shipping Line, CMA CGM, China United Lines, KMTC, Regional Container Lines, and Global Feeders, connects Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East. The maiden call by the MV. ESL vessel marks a significant enhancement in connectivity between these key regions, underscoring DP World’s commitment to bolstering global trade.
DP World Mundra also set a new benchmark by achieving its highest-ever throughput record, handling 128,652 TEUs at its terminal in June. This milestone reflects the terminal’s operational efficiency and capacity. The new service, with a weekly capacity of 3800 TEUs, links Laem Chabang, Singapore, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Cai Mep, Jakarta, and Mundra, thus facilitating seamless trade flows for industries such as agriculture, industrial goods, and engineering products.
Ravinder Johal, COO of Ports & Terminals, Operations and Commercial at DP World, Subcontinent, Middle East, and North Africa, emphasised the strategic significance of the EVGI service. He stated, “At DP World, we continuously optimise supply chain efficiencies and foster access to direct trade routes. This service connects Indian businesses to key markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, while enabling traders in those regions to explore new opportunities in India. With our multimodal capabilities linking Mundra to northern and central India, we are confident that the service will boost convenience for our valued customers.”
DP World Mundra boasts a 632-meter quay and a deep draft to accommodate large vessels. The terminal, with a capacity of 1.4 million TEUs spread over 37 hectares, is a pivotal hub in India’s trade network. It features advanced technology, superior road and rail connectivity to northern and central India, and a round-the-clock Container Freight Station, ensuring efficient cargo handling. The terminal’s innovative and customer-centric approach has cemented its reputation as a preferred partner for major shipping lines.
